As many of you may know, 2008 was a very special year for me as it was 10 years ago in June that I was diagnosed with breast cancer. To celebrate life & surviving (& being 40!), I "walked the walk", completing the 26.2 miles with 3 of my wonderful friends, raising over £1700, & enjoyed it SO much, that,

I AM DOING IT AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!!!!!

I know that many of you were so very kind in sponsoring me & I am not going to nag you into doing so again this year....BUT, please feel free to do so if you wish!!  

For those of you who are visiting my page for the first time, I have included "my story" below:

"It really was the most horrendous time: I was 30, my daughter Jess was 4 & William, my son, was only 6 months old. Although I was the one with cancer, it was also terrible for my family & friends. Following my operation, radiotherapy & 6 months of chemotherapy, I was given the all clear, with regular check ups to follow, continuing to this day.

Those months were the longest & hardest of my life BUT I SURVIVED!! The fear of my cancer returning no longer controls my thoughts like it did in the first few years, but, nevertheless, it will never go away.

This is why doing the moonwalk is SO important to me.....I want to celebrate life, but, more importantly, I also want to help to raise much needed funding to ensure that the research, treatment & care continues to improve & help even more women & men to survive this cruel disease."
