We will be sleeping out on the cold London streets around Old Spitalfields Market on the night of Thursday 12th November to raise money for the Centrepoint charity. It might not sound that hard but the average temperature for a November night is 3°C (37°F) so it's a cold way to spend a night, plus there’ll be no beds or the basic comforts we are used to. We’ll be sleeping on the cold concrete floors, if we are lucky we might find some boxes to sleep on. After spending the night on the streets we will go to work without sleep or showers (nice!) and complete a normal day's work.
The fundraising
event is a way to experience what it is like to be homeless. Although we are
not 16-25 with no money, scared and without a place to go, so we cannot
experience it fully, we do hope to raise money so fewer young people have to sleep out.
Centrepoint help homeless 16-25 year olds - providing safe accommodation and
the chance to turn their lives around. It's their 40th anniversary this year,
so we thought it was time to experience some discomfort for a very good cause.
