Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 18th September we will be walking over 180 miles from Devon to London over 6 days. With 30 miles a day to achieve and carrying all our kit we will need to keep at a good pace which will involve running parts of the route.

Our route takes us from Devon to London because my (Jack's) parents live in devon.  So we know the distance will be a challenge to achieve.

We decided to organise an event independently because we believe it adds to the challenge.

We wanted to organise an event that will be physically and mentally challenging so that every pound  you donate will come with some blood, sweat and tears.

Jack's Story : From completing a 300 mile bike ride and running the London Marathon I decided I needed to listen to my knees which want to retire on me!  Which is why I chose to organise a walking challenge, hopefully the smaller amount of impact will allow me to complete the distance.

I always approach each event with total commitment. For the Walk of Honour I am dedicated to ensure I train hard and will put myself through hell to make sure I finish the event.

I am proud to be able to give my support to those who put their lives on the line for their country, no other motivation needed.

The Evening Event

There is also an evening event that has been organised for 25th September at the Parsons Green Club in Fulham.

The evening will have special guests including members from the Chelsea Pensioners, SAS veteran Robin Horsfield and the presents of many other military personnel.

We also have the privilege of having boxers David Haye (World Heavyweight Champion) and George Groves (Super Middleweight Commonwealth Champion) attending the event.

To help with reaching our target there will be an auction on the night and 100% of the money from the ticket sells will be donated to Help for Hero’s.

I agree with Prince William who quoted "This country has been elevated by Help for Heroes to a state of realisation and proactive support for our military that has made me, personally, very, very proud to be British". Please help support this great charity and sponsor the Walk of Honor event.
