New York City Marathon 2008 · 2 November 2008 ·

The mission of the Foundation is to empower women to realise their potential and become future Women of the Year. We achieve this by providing financial and practical support through small grants, enabling women both in to transform their lives and make meaningful contributions to their communities.

Story

Hi, thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

As you are probably already aware on November 2nd I will be running in the New York marathon - a terrifying prospect at the moment! I am running it as part of the team for the Women of the Year Foundation. Former colleague Gill Carrick, the Chair of the Women of the Year Lunch and Joan Armatrading, President of Women of the Year make up the rest of this athletic trio. Both Gill and Joan have their own sponsorship pages on justgiving.

This is my second marathon which means I have an idea of the pain I will be going through for the last few miles. If it encourages you to be more generous see it as parting with cash to revel in my pain!

Women of the Year is a hugely worthwhile cause that offers women financial and practical support, giving them a chance to fulfill their dreams and ambitions. To find out more please visit http://www.womenoftheyear.co.uk/foundation.htm.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Women Of The Year Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me. Your generosity will ensure that many worthy women get the opportunities that they deserve.

Thank you,

Jack
