Story
On 8th July my dad and I will be cycling from
Land's End, Cornwall to John o'Groats, Scotland. That's right, END to
END! The distance by road is 874 miles and we are hoping to complete the
entire journey in under 14 days, so a minimum of around 62 miles of
cycling per day. We are doing this to raise money for Kidney Cancer UK
in memory of my grandfather, Edward Brackley who died of this disease in May this year.
There are 6000 newly diagnosed cases of kidney cancer each year in the UK. There is an urgent need for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment. KCUK seeks to raise public awareness of kidney cancer and to support the needs of patients and carers through help lines, newsletters and meetings.
