Story

As some of you may or may not be aware I am attempting to run the London Marathon this year on the 23rd of April. I am doing this primarily for the personal challenge of a 26 mile slog around London and to raise money for a worthwhile charity, although the thought of some friendly sibling rivalry as Jess is also running it does play a part!

The ground work for this foolish endeavour on my part was layed last year after Jess ran the marathon and I foolishly declared that it wasn't that hard a feat to achieve - you just had to not stop until the end. Thus this year when I was given the opportunity to enter I felt it was important that I put my money where my mouth was, so to speak. I am still however relying on the theory that its just a case of not stopping til you reach the finish line - hopefully something that will be proved true on the day!

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
