My story
Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
A little about what I'll be doing...
This summer, from the 1st August - 1st September, I'll be traveling to the village of Lókod in central Romania. I'll be working with 11 other students from Durham University to help rebuild housing in the village.
The main priority of our work over there is to help the village towards becoming self-sufficient. Lókod is inhabited by severely disadvantaged young people, many of whom are orphans. They receive no government aid, meaning that they rely to a large extent on help from charity.
Where will your money go?
Everything you give goes straight to MondoChallenge, the charity providing the link between UK volunteers and Lókod. The money will then be used to pay for building materials and equipment that will be used by us when we're out there.
We each need to raise £600 to cover the cost of the materials used, and a further £600 to cover our personal costs (travel, food, insurance etc.)
I'd really like your help in raising the £600 towards buying the material and equipment. This means that everything you choose to give will be going directly to the village of Lókod.
Pound for pound, penny for penny: your money will help give these young people a greater chance of enjoying a happier and more secure future!
