Story
In 2010 I will be travelling to Romania to take part in St. Oswald's
Transylvanian Challenge. The challenge includes hiking in the
Transylvanian Alps, biking through the villages of Transylvania and
volunteering at the hospice in Brasov. It's going to be a real
challenge but also a great experience. and that's where you come in.
By taking part in the challenge, I will be raising vital funds for St. Oswald's Hospice; a registered charity which provides care to adults and children across the North East of England.
St. Oswald's cares for adults with life limiting conditions such as Cancer and Motor Neurone Disease ensuring the time they have is quality time spend with family and friends and offer specialist short breaks to children from the North East with progressive, life shortening conditions and provide specialist support for children and emotional backing and advice for their parents within a relaxed, home-from-home environment.
St. Oswald's make no charge for any of their services, ensuring hospice care is available to everyone in the community. As a registered charity their annual running costs exceed £7 million - of which £5 million must be raised through voluntary giving. This is why my sponsorship is so vital.
I have commited to raising a minumum of £2400 and I would like your support in reaching this target. Through the combined efforts of others taking part in the challenge, we hope to raise over £30,000 that will help ensure St. Oswald's Hospice can continue to offer it's vital services.
