UPDATE: I completed the triathlon in around 91 minutes, or 1 hr 27 if you take away the transition period when I was drying my toes :-)  Many thanks for all your support, it made a real difference as motivation during the event.

On the 5th of July I'm doing a charity triathlon to raise money for two digital mammography machines for Southend Hospital Breast Unit. Breast Cancer affects thousands of women and a handful of men each year and effective screening is the best way of preventing fatalities. Mammography machines are a key part of the screening programme.

The triathlon is a 400m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run. Keen!
