Thank you for visiting this fundraising page set up in memory of JACK MADDAMS, who tragically died on 30 March 2008 just days before his 18th birthday.
Jack was a super fit, super strong young man in his prime. He played football for Ryman League Tonbridge Angels, represented Kent Schools, played for Gillingham FC's Centre of Excellence sides between the ages of 8 to 15 and captained his school, Rochester Math. He was on standby for the England Schoolboys under 18s squad for this season having got to the last 32 in national trials. He sprinted & ran cross country for school, club, district & county. He went to the ROKO gym in Gillingham most days.
His school friends have organised a 5-a-side tournament on SAT 31 MAY at Strood Sports Centre, Watling Street, Rochester, Kent in his honour, in conjunction with the very generous support of the Centre.
This site is to collect donations for this tournament on behalf of CRY, the charity researching Cardiac Risk in the Young. 8 young, fit people PER WEEK die in the UK from "mystery" heart related problems, and we want to raise funds and awareness to prevent as much of the pain as we can that we as family & friends of Jack have recently undergone.
