September 20th 2010 - hurray!!!!! I completed the challenge - it is the toughest physical thing I have ever done - but it was worth it and I'm so thrilled I did it -Yippee!!!! I've raised well over my target, but please do still sponsor me as its not too late to contribute as every penny raised will go into valid research into the health of women and their babies.
Hi and thank you for visiting my web page. I have just come across the charity Women for Women and the Cycle China Challenge whilst flicking through a magazine. As many of my friends, family and colleagues know, much of my work at The Natural Health and Fertility Clinic is involved with women who have suffered miscarriages, who have PCOS or other fertility problems, and these issues are very close to my heart. When I read about the charity and the Cycle China Challenge I just knew this was something I had to do!
The bike ride involves cycling 450kms in 5 days in Beijing Province and for a “sprightly” 52 year old is certainly going to be a challenge! I also need to raise a minimum of £3,300, but I aim to raise well over and above that amount if I can with your help! I have got 2 months to continue to improve my fitness (what fitness?!) and raise the cash, so please sponsor me now – all donations no matter how big or small will be gratefully received as every penny counts!
I am delighted to be doing this challenge with a dear friend Cheryl Parker. Cheryl and I qualified together as physiotherapists 30 years ago this year, and doing this challenge is also a great way to celebrate over 30 years of friendship.
So please give me all the encouragement you can as I need all the help I can get. Together we can help all those women out there who are trying for a child.
