Story
Hey you!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and find out a little more about why I'm taking part in this challenge. As you will probably know, I've volunteered for the charity Radio Northwick Park for about 4 and a half years now, it's something that I never stop talking about!
What you may probably not know is that, for me volunteering at RNP is more than just being on the radio and playing my favourite songs, its about making a positive impact on the lives of patients staying in the hospital.
I've seen first hand the effect that RNP has had on thousands of patients, plus the effect the volunteers had on my mum who has spent many months in Northwick Park over the years. Visiting a patient for even a few minutes each day is enough to make all the difference, for them to know that they always have a friend in Radio Northwick Park, a friend who they will see everyday and a friend who will help make their unfortunate stay in hospital that little more bearable. And all this is done by spending a few minutes chatting by their bedside and playing a song that makes them happy.
To continue this service, RNP continuously has to find new ways of raising money. This 60 mile bike ride will be an enormous challenge for me (anyone who has seen me run for the bus will know how unfit I am) so any contribution that you can make to get me through this feat, and go towards a truly fantastic local charity will be forever appreciated.
Thank you,
J x
