Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2015 i ran the London to Cambridge Ultra Marathon and i posted on Facebook afterwards 'if I ever say I'm doing another ultra marathon you can slap me!' well i am doing another one (it will cost you a fiver to slap me plus your new donation!!). I really wanted to take part in the same ultra as i wanted to beat my previous time of 14hrs 31mins. unfortunately the London to Cambridge Challenge has been replaced with the Cotswold Way Challenge. Though this will be a very scenic run it will also be very hilly so i doubt i will be able to beat my time but i will give it my best to get somewhere close to it!!!

Training has already started with a couple of 15 milers so far. I have signed up for Milton Keynes Marathon which is in May to help with my training so i have that to look forward too. As i have never actually done a marathon i would like to complete it in under 4 hours, so the challenge is on to train to run the ultra marathon at a slower than normal pace but at the same time i have to train to complete the 26.2 miles in under 4 hours. It's going to be fun!!!!!

I had fun running home after I had finished my Nightshift! I decided to take the scenic route cross country and along the River Orwell. It was a slippery 14 miles with the ice on the roads and pavements and muddy along the river bank!! Completed in just over 2 hours.

What can i say about the training.....well, i'm still running!! I have been running to work on whilst on nights which is 9.5 miles and the other week i ran there then home again the following morning. Last weekend i did a 15 mile run. This was quite a pleasant run along the River Orwell from Trimley Foreshores and through the Nature Reserve and past the Dock along to the seafront. Along the seafront from one end to the other in Old Felixstowe and then the slow slog back up the High Road homeward bound. Though it was a pleasant run it was hampered by the wind, which made the run that little bit slower. Next weekend maybe something similar!! After all it is now only 2 months to the Milton Keynes warm up Marathon!

Did a little 16 miler along the River Orwell the other day. i had to combine it with a visit to Screwfix. it was run or take the car! it only took 2hours 20minutes so it wasn't too bad.           6 weeksish until MK. Hopefully out next week for another long run. maybe try and go for somewhere near 20 miles!!

To help with the fundraising efforts I am holding an Afternoon tea event at Felixstowe Fire Station on Saturday 20th May. Tickets are £8/person unless you would like to pay more! you will be served tea or coffee with a selection of sandwiches, a slice of cake or 2 and a scone with cream and jam.
