Yes, that's right! As you're reading this in your lovely fuzzy post-christmas haze of mincepies and christmas cake, we're preparing to sweat our way to the top of the highest freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. From the 16th - 22nd January we will be trekking over 120km to the summit, a journey that only the greatest athletes of our time (and Chris I love donuts Moyles) have made successfully.
Of course we're not just doing this for fun but to support our friends at Solar Aid (www.solar-aid.org) because they believe as we do that the best way to fight poverty is to create jobs and businesses for people to generate their own income. Rather than making their money selling Pepsi though, they train people to sell solar lamps that bring electricity to rural villages. They are more fuel efficient and less hazardous than the kerosene alternative. Basically, they rock and we're going to spend some time visiting their projects on our way to Kili.
As it's Christmas, we've decided to cover all the costs of the climb ourselves so we can raise as much money for Solar Aid as possible so please donate generously, either out of guilt for the fact that we sponsored you last time or pity for the fact that it will be as cold as -15 degrees the morning we summit! Brrrrr...
