My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well i can't believe it is all over!

I managed to plod round in the most appauling weather conditions - Wind, Rain and Cold! It was like a winters day with all runners getting soaked to the bone.

I hated every minute of it and I am certain that was my one and only marathon.

I actually trained for 13 out of the 16 weeks on my marathon training schedule (3 weeks of injury altogether)

I covered 428 miles in total during my training and went through 1.5 pairs of trainers.

My personal highs were; getting a personal best in the Wilmslow half-marathon, meeting new friends at Styal running club and finally crossing the finishing line at the Manchester marathon!

My personal lows were, various injuries including; Man Flu, Abscess in my eye, shin splints, swollen knee(twice) and the development of a hip problem and pins and needles in my left foot 3 weeks before the actual marathon! - Running in the cold and dark winters evenings, bleeding nipples, a short dose of athletes foot (maybe i was an athlete for a short time?) - shelling out lots of money on girly looking 'compression socks' (Also known in the trade as 'old man socks') and the 5 sessions of specialist physio I had to have to help reolve my hip/knee problems.

Thank you very much to all who have helped raise funds for Child-Flight by sponsoring me - This site will stay open until July so anyone is still able to donate to this wothwhile cause!
