Story

I'm running the Brighton Marathon (my first marathon) on 12 April. I'd not intended to fundraise but I changed my mind. Why?

First, my training hasn't been great. If you like me, your donation will give me a boost through those painful miles.

Second, my training hasn't been great. If you don't like me, your donation will create a moral obligation that forces me to endure pain.

Third, my sister-in-law, Lucy, recently passed away from cancer. Hospice in the Weald provided excellent care to Lucy throughout her illness, giving her and her family support and comfort in an almost unbearable time. Like all hospices, it is reliant on voluntary contributions so it can provide its invaluable services.

In that context this page seems an insignificant way to say thank you, but even if it only raises a pound, it's a pound more to help them support other patients and families.
