We have arrived in Greece safe and sound, thank you so much to all that whom donated. Great cause, it gave us great amounts of encouragement!
We will be setting off from Dover on Friday the 10 of June, and aiming to complete the challenge arriving in Zakynthos 31 days later, this works out to be around 60 miles of cycling per day in up to 35 degrees heat.
Although both George and I are both keen cyclists we have never attempted anything of this magnitude before.
We are looking to raise £3,000 for Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I).
Both George and I have close links with the countryside both growing up in the West Country. We feel both feel that charity begins at home and nothing more so requires spotlight in the UK at the moment as the farming community.
The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution has an unbroken history of supporting members of the farming community suffering need, hardship or distress.
Having set off from London we are looking to pass through three border crossings, France, Italy and finally finishing our journey in Zakynthos, Greece.
During this challenge we will be covering roughly 1750 miles, burning up to 5000 calories a day,
Where possible our accommodation will be tented to reduce the cost.
I would like to emphasise that this will be a self-funding expedition and that all money donated will go directly to R.A.B.I
Any donations however small to this worthy cause will be greatly appreciated; If you think you are too small to make an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room
Many thanks,
George and James
