AMELIA NOW KNOWS AND IS DEFINITELY UP FOR IT! She is overwhelmed by all your support: thanks again to you all. With snow having thwarted her first attempt on Sunday March 4th, she is now scheduled for her jump on Sunday 1st April - yup, April's Fools Day!

Thanks for taking the time to visit Amelia Pearson's JustGiving page, even though she did not know it existed until Valentine's Day!

Amelia once dismissively mused that she may one day want to try skydiving, so now's her chance! She has also been trying to think of ways in which she can raise money for Muscular Dystrophy, the "incurable" disease that has affected two close friends, Michael Driver and Eli Crossley, two of the kindest and best-spirited people we have had the privilege to spend time with. So I thought I would organise a surprise Skydive for Amelia to complete, thereby simultaneously raising funds in Michael's memory and to help fund research to improve the future of Eli and the many other children like him.

As luck would have it, the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign had arranged a "Make Today Count" campaign where they are aiming to get 100 skydivers to dive: they are helping us get this done asap.Through our collective generosity and support, I hope we can all coerce Meels into being one of them!

Please keep this a secret from Amelia, at least for now, but similarly give generously. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. I really hope we can raise a meaningful amount of money for this worthy cause, thereby ensuring Meels has no opportunity to chicken out! Your support means a lot to me, and will do to her too. And indeed everyone who work tirelessly at the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.

So please dig very deep, go on even deeper, and donate now. Don't let Meels have an excuse not to jump out of a plane.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
