Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Both Matt Brown and cycling partner Andrei intend to complete the ultimate Great British cycling challenge - cycling the entire length of Britain - during May 2011.

Starting in Land's End, taking advantage of the prevailing wind, we will set off on our 1,100 mile adventure. The shortest possible route is approx 900 miles but we have added distance to avoid as many main roadss as possible. We will complete the ride entirely self sufficiently with no support crews or assistance within 12 days. With a single planned rest day we intend to cycle 100 miles per day.

The purpose of the ride is to raise money and awareness for Macmillian Cancer Support who improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and campaign for better cancer care.

We plan to commence our journey by travelling along the north Cornish coast, passing the wilds of dartmoor and crossing the River Seven into Hereford. From Hereford we will continue alongside the Welsh Marches borders and then up through the Peak District. As we progress further north we pass through the Yorkshire Dales, over the boarder into the dramatic scenery of Scotland, along the West Coast and over to Arran to avoid both Edinburgh and Glasgow to eventually arrive at John O'Groats.

We hope that you will consider supporting us on our journey.
