SMA is a genetic disease that affects motor neurones. 1:40 of us is a carrier and in its most severe form children rarely live beyond 2 – making SMA the leading genetic cause of death in babies and toddlers. The SMA Trust is solely dedicated to funding research into a cure and treatments for SMA

Story

On September 8th this year, I will be accompanying 14 other colleagues on a bike ride from London to Paris which we aim to complete in under three days. This will be a huge challenge with many painful hours in the saddle as we aim to cycle over 80 miles each day!

We are taking on this MAD challenge in order to raise money for the SMA Trust, which is a charity that means a great deal to all of us taking part.  SMA is a devastating, genetic disease and is one of the leading genetic killers of infants and toddlers.

The SMA Trust is the only UK charity dedicated solely to funding research into this debilitating condition. Scientists are making significant progress in finding a cure, for which we need your help.

I am aiming to raise £1000 towards the team’s total in order to help the SMA Trust fund the vital research they are doing into finding a cure.  I’ve not taken part in any charity event before so I'm not sure if my target is realistic,  whether you can contribute £5 or £50 ANY donation would be gratefully received and make my saddle sores more bearable!!

Please give generously to this fantastic cause.

Thanks for all your help

 James
