RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Please dig deep and sponsor me if you can, I've set a modest target so lets try to smash it :) The Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool ride is a 54 mile, vaguely hilly route, on the 15th of July. I've been training for it by riding to and from work for the past two months - a friend and I are going to try to keep an average of >17mph - sounds feeble but its fairly hard work on pedal power!

If you're a kitesurfer think about the fact that we are one of few countries that have a fully functional rescue service manned by volunteers who'll drop everything to come and get you when it all goes wrong - lets help them help us. It costs £5500 every time the all-weather lifeboats are launched, on average, and £13million a year to keep the service running.

If you're not a watersport fan think hard about how much you'd like a watersport friend to be saved, then put it to the back of your mind and donate anyway!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now if you can! If you can't, dont worry, I wont be keeping track of who does and doesn't :)

Cheers for your support! Thanks to those who have been very generous so far!
