Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

We provide specialist palliative and end of life care for adults living across central and south west London. This year, we must raise £13m to supplement the funding we receive from the NHS so we can continue to provide our outstanding, compassionate care, free of charge. Your support is vital.

Story

I am running the London Marathon to raise money for Trinity Hospice, a local charity, which is the oldest hospice in the UK. The hospice gets only one third of its funding from the NHS, all the rest has to come from charitable donations, legacies, benefactors and fund raising. Any adult who sponsors me £5 or more, is invited to enter a sweepstake to guess how long the Marathon will take me. If children wish to join in they just need to sponsor me £1 or more. Please guess the hours, minutes and seconds that you think I will take to run/walk/hobble the 26 miles. The winning adult entry will win a bottle of champagne; and there will be 3 suitable prizes for the 3 closest children's entries. Many thanks for your generosity.
