Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Andy, my partner had been ill for a number of years. He often stayed at the Sussex Beacon, sometimes when he was feeling ill, while I was on business trips, or just to get away for a few days. The Beacon was a lifeline, without their support, it would have been very difficult to continue a full time career and continue to support Andy, especially when his illness took a turn for the worst.

Sadly, Andy died on the 21st May 2008. Many of our friends had been asking me to plant a tree in Andy's memory. Unfortunately, a suitable and meaningful plot was not available. I decided to create this fund raising page a few weeks ago. Someone working for another company in my office building was raising donations for the Beacon through justgiving. I made a donation, and created this page in Andy's memory. It was a strange moment of inspiration, and something Andy would approve of.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. The Sussex Beacon gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
