Three Lake /LochChallenge. TLC
You’ve probably heard of theThreePeaks Challenge. Scale the three highest peaks in , and , in 24 hours. I‘ve done it twice and arguably my last venture in December 2007 was extremely arduous, to say the least.
Well, I guess they say you can’t keep a good man down…
This year myself and Ian Letton have set ourselves a personal challenge. On the 23rd May we’ll be kayaking the three longest Lakes / Lochs in , and, all in 24 hours.
In broad brush strokes we plan to drive to Wales Saturday morning. Set off from our start point about 20:00hrs paddle theWelshLake,LakeBala, then move on to theEnglishLake, Lake Windermere and finally finish onLoch Lomond, .
We’ll be kayaking a stage in the dark,Lake Windermere.
On the whole it shouldn’t be a problem as myself and Ian are established kayakers. However, like most events we plan, there will be loads of training involved to ensure the risk is minimised!
Did I mention we could be setting the standard…could be??? As we understand it hasn’t been done before, so exciting times ahead for both Ian and I.
We’ll be driving long distances, kayaking long distances and will be facing multiple difficulties along the way. We’ll need reliable transport, efficient equipment and a determination only Ian and I can supply.
