The race is over - thanks to all those who sponsored me! On a really terrible day weather-wise, I managed a reasonable time of just over 2 hours. Through the generosity of so many people I reached my target of £10,000 but THERE IS STILL TIME TO SPONSOR ME IF YOU HAD BEEN MEANING TO (but just wanted to make sure I could do it) A year ago my wife Sophie's mother died of pancreatic cancer, a particularly aggressive form of cancer because it is very difficult to detect until it is too late to treat. Sophie's mother died within two weeks of diagnosis, leaving a family which had no time to prepare. The charity is Pancreatic Cancer UK, which is working hard to find a way of diagnosing this devastating disease earlier, to give people a chance of being cured before it is too late. If you would like to know more about the work of this charity, please go to their website: www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Pancreatic Cancer UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please dig deep - every little helps. Thanks very very much.
