This July, I'm going to Iceland to raise money for Essex Air Ambulance!
I'm currently training for a challenging four day trek across the varied terrain of Iceland, up mountains and across vast valleys, wading through ice cold fast moving rivers, and camping overnight in sub zero temperatures.
Essex Air Ambulance needs £250,000 per month to stay operational. It receives no government or lottery funding, it survives purely through fundraising events like this.
On the Drive Home on Southend Radio and Chelmsford Radio, I often mention the Air Ambulance attending the scenes of accidents during the travel news, and its attendance at these incidents can save lives by getting paramedics to people who need attention, and get them back to hospital in minutes.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Every single penny counts, so every donation will be equally welcomed and gratefully received.
