Story
Hi all, Thanks so much for taking the time to have a look at my sponsorship page.
Lands End - John O'Groats 2007........4 men, 4 bikes, 9 days.....1000 Miles!!!!!!!!
Starts Monday 4th June 2007.
2nd September 2006.............an extremely tragic and gut wrenching day for RAF Kinloss and all of those who belong to it. On that awful day the 14 members of 120 Sqn Crew 3 climbed aboard 'Nimrod MR2 XV230' to carry out a mission but never came home. The jet went down near Kandahar, Afghanistan and all 14 souls were lost. I myself am also Aircrew based at RAF Kinloss and fly on the Nimrod so it obviously came as a huge shock to me when I heard the news that 14 of my colleagues had gone down, however, I can't even begin to imagine the hurt and the immense loss felt by the families and loved ones of those that had died. I am therefore dedicating this ride to all the guys that lost their lives that Saturday afternoon and all monies raised will go to the RAF Widows' Association. The charity aims to provide frienship, support and pratical advice to the women that have lost their husbands who died whilst serving the Royal Air Force and to help them through the immediate hardship and also offer support further down the line.
So once again all, thanks so much for having a look here and if you decide to sponsor me.....many many many thanks. If you decide that you don't want to sponsor me ........c'mon...shaving my legs is bound to be worth a few quid at least!!!!!!
Also, we've got our website up and running now where hopefully our support crew will be updating daily with pictures and commentary on how the rides going, where we've got to and how we're all whimpering like bunch of pansies!!!!! See the updates at:
