Most of us rarely think about how the fish we eat came to be on our plate. The reality is that the deep sea fishing industry is one of the most hazardous and loneliest of industries to work in. Poor working conditions, harsh working environments and the risk of injury and death are a daily reality for many fishermen.

The Fishermen's Mission is the only charity that provides emergency support alongside practical and emotional care for fishermen. The charity helps all fishermen and their families whether active or retired.

The Mission helps the survivors of fishing boat accidents, helping ill or injured fishermen to get medical assistance, providing emergency housing, food and other care as needed. Assistance is provided to fishermen in need, and their families, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The Mission also provides welfare and support support services, practical and pastoral care.

I have seen first hand the good work that this charity does and whilst 26 miles is a very long way, with your donatons behind me every mile will be worth it. So please dig deep and donate now and help me reach my fundraising target for this charity which few know of yet which makes such a difference to those in need.
