Bupa Great Birmingham Run 2013 · 20 October 2013 ·

Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Sunday 20th October we will be running the Birmingham half marathon in memory of our friend and colleague, Kevin Paterson, who tragically died after completing the Birmingham half marathon last year.  We will be joining many members of his family and friends in taking part in the event, raising money in his name for a fantastic cause, Cardiac Risk in the Young.

After several years of 'not really' running, Mandy has been inspired to start running again and to raise money for this worthwhile cause in Kev's memory.

Gareth is a regular runner, injuries permitting!  Almost as determined and competitive as Kev, he is following up his efforts in raising money in Kev's memory at the Shrewsbury marathon in June. Having done the Birmingham half marathion every year since it started, he would love to get a PB in Kev's honour!

Originally there was a third member of our running team, James, but unfortunately he has had to pull out through injury.

Thank you ever so much for visiting our page and making a donation, it really means a lot to us.
