Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Many of you will know that for the better part of the last decade I have been using my ability as a Structural Engineer to design and build commercial buildings and bridges. However I now have the chance to use my skills for a very good cause and I need your help!
I am going to be travelling out to South Africa on the 22nd November for a week and must raise £2000 for the One Foundation and the Architects Benevolent Society. This will enable the One Foundation to install a new PlayPump® Water System in a local school in the KwaZulu-Natal region, South Africa. By providing a local water supply, the pump will cut down on time spent by women and children walking long distances to collect water and will greatly improve health and sanitation levels. All money raised will go directly to the charities, divided equally between the two.
Our trip to South Africa will enable us to build further basic infrastructure, as requested by the community, to contribute to their sustainable livelihoods. For example we may be digging vegetable gardens, planting fruit trees, building toilets to provide children with decent sanitation, building a kitchen for the school to prepare meals for school children or be maintaining the school facilities to ensure more children can attain vital education. My expenses on the trip are paid for by Waterman Structures, not by your donations
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Architects Benevolent Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
