We’re Mind, the mental health charity, working across England & Wales. We believe no one should face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give support & advice, & fight your corner. Thanks for fundraising for national Mind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may know, every July for the last 4 years i have taken part in the charity allstars ice hockey tournament. Each year we raised over £100,000 for various charities

I am once again taking part in the charity event on the weekend of 25th July20 and i am back representing Team MIND, which is a mental health charity

As a GP Practice Manager I know that one of the top 3 reasons our patients come to see the GP is for mental health issues. That is a statistic which is surprising to some but with more people knowing the importance of looking after their physical and mental health more people are seeking support

Some statistics

- Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year (MIND.org.uk)

- Approximately 1 in 5 people in the UK will experience suicidal thoughts (MIND.org.uk)

- Between 2017/18 26.8 million working days were lost due to ill health. Of these, 15.4 million days were because of Stress, depression or anxiety (HSE.gov.uk)

There is a very good chance that yourself, a friend, family member or a colleague have experienced a mental health problem in the last year.

As I have family members who suffers with mental health issues, I have personally and professionally taken advice from MIND. They were amazingly helpful which is why i am determined to raise as much as possible for them.
