BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

We’re Age UK and we’re here to make sure every older person feels included and valued. Whether it’s providing free information and advice, tackling loneliness and isolation or campaigning for older people’s rights – we’ll be there. Your support makes it possible.

Story

As you can see from this photograph, from the Hyde Park 10k in July, running a half marathon will be an effort!  However, in an attempt to get fitter and then with the passing of my grandfather earlier in the year, I thought doing the Great North Run for Help the Aged was apt.

PLEASE DO ONLY DONATE IF YOU THINK THIS IS A WORTHWILE CAUSE.  I know that a lot of these come around but having read some of the shocking statistics on their website and spoken to members of the team, I believe any funds will be effectively used and help our ageing population live the life they deserve.  Most have been through a lot more than myself for which I am grateful and believe should be acknowledged. See here for more information http://www.helptheaged.org.uk/en-en/default.htm

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help the Aged gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
