Make-A-Wish UK is part of a global movement that exists to make life-changing wishes come true for the thousands of critically ill children across the UK. The power of a wish allows families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.

Story

I've entered a Half Ironman this year, and want to raise some money for the Make A Wish Foundation who help kids aged 3-17 with life threatening illnesses by granting their wishes for a day. http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/

This year is the charities 21st anniversary and in that time they've enchanted over 5000 children!

Fortunately for me, the Half Ironman course in Exmoor, Devon is regarded as the most challenging on the global circuit - and the cycling profile snapshot to the left illustrates the lovely country roads I'll be pedaling through.  I'm pretty sure my heart rate will be a more constant peak...

The distances to complete include a 1.2 mile lake swim, a 56 mile bike ride followed by a 13.1 mile half marathon, so a Piece of cake.  Your donation will give me the added determination I need to complete this in somewhere between 7 and 8 hours.

I'm looking forward to the BBQ afterwards.

Thanks,

James
