The Marathon des Sables (MdS) is a footrace in stages covering 151 miles / 243 km in 6 days. Essentially a full marathon every day! To add to the adventure we will be carrying all our own supplies, equipment and water. The Mds has become one of the most prestigious ‘extreme marathons’ in the world.
Running this extreme marathon has been a life long ambition however I hope by completing it I can also do some good for others. Recently two families known to us have been devastated by the loss of their sons; one was 12 years old and the other 16 to meningitis. As a father, I can only guess at the anguish those families are going through and therefore I would like to aid in the reduction of this illness.
