As you know, yours truly will be running / shuffling / crawling 26miles around the streets ofon 26 April next year in the name of charity.

It’s worth pointing out at this stage that currently I can run only a few miles, and even that takes a small eternity, so 26miles should be interesting.

I’m putting myself through this personal hell in the hope of raising some money for a very noble cause; the Family Holiday Association.

The FHA provides short breaks for some of the most disadvantaged families in the… Families living with disabilities, poverty, abuse, bereavement and mental health problems on a daily basis and with little or no sign of relief.

So even the smallest donation will do three things:

1) Help support the FHA and those in severe need of a break

2) Inspire me to stop eating burgers, pizza and beer and do a good job of running 26miles in under 5 (4?) hours.

3) Keep me going when I’m puffing my way around thestreets in the coming winter months on cold wet Sunday afternoon when I could be in the pub like the rest of you…

For those of you who are interested in watching how my training progresses (somewhat humorously, I’m guessing), I’ll be blogging-away at http://jamesrunsthemarathon.blogspot.com/.

Thanks all! xx James.
