BUPA Great Manchester Run 2007 · 20 May 2007 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

It seems like I'm always asking for your cash and I'm sorry but that's the way charities survive.  They really need our help.

I live in Manchester and I love Manchester.  Manchester is Cancer City UK, fact!  If you are a teenager then fighting this disease comes with the added worry of being on an adult ward where you are treated like a kid or a having to be on a children's ward where you are treated more like an adult.

To get round this problem, TCT make treatment in hospital a better experience for the patient and their families.  They ensure that beds are available in units specifically for teenagers with nursing staff who know what teenagers are about.  It's about building units, supporting teenager through it all an raising awareness.

They support teenagers across the UK and there is a unit near you.

Me, you know I'm a Manc really and I hope you will support me not just with the Great Manchester 10km but throughout the year to raise cash for a great charity.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Teenage Cancer Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support and I will be forever in your debt (although I might have to owe you!)...

Can I say there is a bit of Scouse in me too (honourary too!).
