My story

Hi everyone

Thanks for taking a minute to visit. Donations received have been greatly appreciated and your on going support has been brilliant. The World Society for the Protection of Animals does amazing work throughout the world and some of their campaigns are featured below. Without donations they would be unable to continue with their efforts.

Bears

Campaigning to protect bears from cruelty and captivity

Stray animals

Millions of stray animals are in danger of inhumane deaths

Factory farming

Factory farming threatens animal welfare, human health and the environment

Saving the orangutan

These endangered apes face deforestation and random culling

Universal Declaration

Achieving international recognition of the importance of animal welfare

Working horses

Working horses are often overworked and poorly cared for

Whaling

Thousands of whales are inhumanely killed every year in bloody hunts

Disaster management

Animal welfare is a vital part of rebuilding of communities after a disaster

Education

Developing compassion and respect are at the heart of WSPA’s education work

Bullfighting

This violent blood sport pits a bull against men

Training for the climb has stepped up and the gym has become my second home!

I may have mentioned previously that when I signed up for the climb that I hadn't done much outside walking or any climbing. That was until a few weeks ago when I, with my friends took a trip toNorth Wales.

On the Saturday we climbedSnowdon(1085m). We took the Snowdon Ranger Path and from the summit took the Rhyd-Ddu path down both of which were routes for the more experienced (unlike me). The next day we marched up Y Garn (947m) for another tough climbs again we took a more difficult route which included some interesting rock climbing.

Again it was an amazing feeling getting to the top and taking in the spectacular views.

Six months ago I would never have imagined climbing a few mountains would be as much fun and I thoroughly recommend it.

UPDATE

28th May I have just come back from theLake District and another few days training.
