Firstly thanks for visiting my fundraising page and a Happy New Year - hopefully this means a potential donation!?

I'm running the 2009 London Marathon for Refuge a charity that provides help for women experiencing domestic violence. Rachel my better half and her Mum Sue are both big supporters of Refuge hence my decision for choosing this charity!

I have enjoyed competing in a variety of sports throughout my life and have always had the idea of running a marathon lurking in the back of my mind. I went to watch friends run the London marathon in 2008 and realized what a fantastic event it is. However this year I plan not be cheering from a pavement outside a pub and now having more time than in previous years realised it an ideal opportunity to give the 2009 marathon a real shot.

I have given myself the heady target of raising £3000 for refuge and will greatfully accept donations of all sizes.
