Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

for 2010 myself (Jamie Dowdall) and a fellow Callington Lion Phil Lamb have decided we needed a challenge which would push us both to get fitter.

so we have decided on the 24th July 2010 we set off on a trip of a lifetime walking from Cremyl Ferry (opposite Plymouth) to Landsend along the South West Coast Path.

a distance of 160 miles and a ascent totalling 9200 metres, thats 400 metres higher than Everest, and a total of climbing 5.7 miles up !!

Not an easy task for an unfit and overweight person !!

I decided after the birth of Thomas our son that I particulary would like to support a childrens charity, and the one I have personally picked is a south west based charity called chicks

 The Children CHICKS Help

CHICKS aims to provide as many disadvantaged children as possible with the life enhancing experience of a free respite break away in the countryside at one of our centres in Devon or Cornwall.

CHICKS helps children from a variety of different backgrounds, just a few examples are children growing up in poverty, children of prisoners, and children who have been abused, either physically, emotionally or sexually. CHICKS also provides breaks for young carers

www.chicks.org.uk for more information

We will be approaching various companies over the coming months to try and obtain sponsorship, and will advertise any that are prepared to help on shirts that we wear etc.

Please help us help this worthwhile cause, sponsor us, come on do you really think we can do it, surely your moneys safe if you sponsor us per mile or a lumpsum, and if by some miracle we make it think of the children we will help together.

I thought this sums it up (taken from the chicks website)

IMAGINE

Bens mum is on drugs

he doesnt see his father

his sister is autistic

hes bullied at school

hes only 8 years old

dont you think ben deserves a break ?

go on dig deep help me to help children like Ben
