Hi,
Firstly many thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
My wife Tara had a serious accident in July that resulted in her needing an emergency and life saving operation on her brain. She is on the road to recovery now following fantastic treatment at Hope Hospital in Salford Manchester. This event was a life changing experience for both Tara and myself and has changed our outlook on life a great deal. As part as her recovery treatment Tara attends BASIC once a week for their help. This has proved a lifeline for Tara and has accelerated her recovery no end!. I have seen first hand what outstanding work they do on a shoestring budget.
I made the decision to try to raise some money for BASIC as if they can help someone else and their family like they are helping us then that would mean a lot to Tara and myself.
I want to raise as much money for them as possible by doing various running events over the next 12 months. The first being the Stockport 10 miler in December 08 then -
March 2009 - Wilmslow Half Marathon, May 2009 - BUPA Manchester 10k, October 2009 BUPA Great North Run and the New York Marathon November 2009.
Results
December 7th 2008 - Stockport 10 mile completed 70 mins, March 29th 2009 - Wilmslow Half Marathon completed 1hr 37mins, Manchester 10k completed with Tara in 67mins !. Great North Run completed in 1hr 40mins and Tara completed it in 2hrs 37mins !!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BASIC (Brain And Spinal Injury Centre) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Any donation you can make will be a start in making the difference
So please sponsor me now!
Many Thanks!
Jamie
