Story

The Enham Kilimanjaro Challenge 2008

We all have our Mountains to climb - THEY DID IT!

Disability charity Enham are thrilled to announce that three of our clients summated Mount Kilimanjaro!  Congratulations go to James Bridges ,Alex Adams, and James Smith on this phenomenal achievement.

Raw feet took their toll, but we are so proud to announce that Jamie Magee reached the dizzy heights of 14,000 feet .  This is the height that tandem parachutists jump from so he is to be congratulated at this amazing feat.  Pauline Griffin, Jamie Magee, Liz Curtis, Michael Steel and Val Bradshaw all made that height with him.

Up there with them were members of Enham staff.  Susie Snudden made it to the top and within a whisper of the summit were Claire Holt, Jane McFarlane, Sheila Oldacre, Dr Jack and Saudi climbers Ali and Ahmed who all must be feeling literally on top of the world.  Expedition leader Steve Ballantyne has said how immensely proud he is to be part of the climb and that it ranks amongst the best expedition he has ever taken part in.

Other members of the team to summit were Hans and Herta Von Stiegel, James' buddy Bryan Magee, Luke Purse, Doctors Chris and Laura, Morgan Roy and also Greg, Kyle, Michael, Gordon and Kate from the film team.

Altitude sickness and raw feet took their toll; but Pauline Griffin, Jamie Magee, Liz Curtis, Michael Steel and Val Bradshaw reached the dizzy heights of 14,000 feet before they succumbed.  This is the height that tandem parachutists jump from so they are all to be congratulated at this amazing feat.
