Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Having never attempted a half marathon before, agreeing to  run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in aid of YouthNet, was a somewhat daunting prospect. However, before I knew it Sunday 12 October had arrived and I made my way to Hyde Park to run the challenging 13.1 miles alongside the 7665 other participants.

It was surprisingly warm and sunny – which was pleasant for spectators, but not so nice for the runners taking part! Nonetheless, I managed to push through the pain and make it to the finish in 2 hours and 20 minutes. A thoroughly deserved pint went down very nicely in a nearby pub afterwards, with the YouthNet staff.

Considering this was the first ever Royal Parks Half Marathon, I felt it was organised really well and would urge others to sign up for a place in 2009.

Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me, you’ve enabled me to surpass my target and help YouthNet to reach even more young people.
