<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">Those who know me well, will be aware that running has never really been on my radar but after a couple of drinks one night in January I made the mistake of responding to a challenge.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So here I am at the tender age of 58 entering for my very first official race.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have chosen the Great North Run as it finishes at South Shields, my birthplace (although I moved to sunny Shropshire almost 34 years ago) and to run on behalf of Multiple Sclerosis.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My twin sister, Joy, has suffered from MS for many years and I’ve seen how it can affect not only the individual but all those around them. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;"> </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">I know that you will receive many similar requests for donations to other worthwhile causes but every little helps and if you could find just a small contribution I should be extremely grateful.</span></p>
