Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I met Danny Baker in 2009 when he was referred for neuro-rehabilitation at Sevenoaks Hospital following a head injury as a result of a car accident. Right from day one he was really keen, being determined to regain his fitness and mobility. However I had no idea in 2011 we would be going to the Base Camp of Everest together!!

Danny suggested the idea and I took very little convincing as it something I have always dreamed of doing. Michael and I have always shared a love of mountains and so this trip will be very special for both of us.We also have great admiration for Danny's attitude in overcoming his disability and are delighted to be able to be part of this amazing challenge

The trip in March is completely self funded but we all felt that we would like to help some other people acheive their dreams in the future by fundraising for the West Kent Neuro Rehabilitation Unit which is where much of Danny's rehabilitation occured.

The majority of patients at the unit will include walking as one of their personal goals and this can often be key in gaining some level of independance With this in mind we have decided to raise funds for a very specific piece of equipment which is a specialist treadmill and a de-weighting system. This will allow us to assist and retrain people from an early stage to walk again, progressing if appropriate through to higher levels of mobility.

We have a very big target tof £12,500 to reach to purchase the Biodex equipment so please help by donating whatever you can it will be REALLY APPRECIATED.

Thank you

P.S I will also be undertaking a gruelling bike ride in May from Sevenoaks to Paris in 3 days all for the same charity. I hope you will feel one of these challenges is worthwhile donating to

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
