Maternity Worldwide is working to reduce mortality associated with childbirth in developing countries. This is through deployment of medical and midwifery staff, subsidy of patient care for those most in need and advocacy within the developed world.

Story

We're two midwives from Brighton who are taking on the challenge of a lifetime to raise money to save lives in childbirth. And we need your support!

In October we'll be cycling 200 miles in 6 days, over mountainous terrain in Ethiopia, to raise funds for Maternity Worldwide. Currently 1 in 16 women die in childbirth in Africa, and the vast majority of these deaths are preventable with access to cheaply available medication and healthcare. As midwives we feel very strongly about these issues and want to do something to change the appalling statistics. You can help us to do this.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Maternity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
