To everyone who knows me, you will understand why I'm wanting to do this, wildlife, infact all animal life is so important to me, and over the years has given me so much pleasure....now its time I gave something back.
This page is to raise money for WSPA and their bear appeal. And i will be trekking through the Carpathian Mountains as part of my pledge to help this causel.
Bears all across Eastern Europe andAsia are being subjected to cruel treatments for the entertainment of humans.
All different species of this great animal are being captured, kept in cramped cages and physically abused by their owners. Many bears are forced to 'dance' by the side of the road by having a rope attached to their nose which is used as a control for the rest of the bears life. Others have their claws and teeth removed and are then set upon by aggressively trained dogs for the entertainment of crowds by corrupt people who are hard to stop. Bear farming also occurs where they are kept in cages and their bile is extracted and use for medicinal purposes on the Asian market.
This is no life for any animal.
WSPA are a salvation for bears treated in this way. They have set up a reserve in Romania as a place to keep these rescued animals safe and give them a more natural environment in which they can live. However, money is needed to keep this bear sanctuary running and to allow WSPA to carry on their good work of trying to get this cruel form of entertainment banned.
I am asking you to help me raise money to go towards this worthy cause which relies so heavily on donations. The money raised will go directly to WSPA .
