In order to do the walk "properly" and be eligible to join the Lykewake Club, the walk has to be completed in 24 hours or less! Having completed some training walks I know this isn't going to be a stroll in the park, but then if it were too easy it wouldn't be a challenge! By doing the walk, I am aiming to raise money for the Mid Surrey Link of Chernobyl Children Lifeline, (www.midsurreylink.org) a charity I have been involved with for a numer of years. The Mid Surrey Link brings a group of 16 children over from Belarus each summer to give them a four-week break from the after effects of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. It costs about £550 to bring each child over. You can read more by visiting the charity's website.
