Hello! Sunday was a great day. I finished the run in 57 minutes, and my sisters and I had a fantastic time. Thank you for all your support and for helping me raise money for such a fantastic charity that works very hard to help the people of South Africa.
Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am very excited to be doing the British 10k London Run for Ukuthasa, a registered UK-based charity working to bring about positive change in Africa. Ukuthasa was established in 1995 by some friends of mine, Gary and Nicky Welsh, who after visiting post-apartheid South Africa were captivated by the country and its people. Overwhelmed by the poverty, deprivation and the horror of HIV/Aids they encountered, they gave up their jobs in the UK and moved to South Africa to build bridges with local communities and make a tangible difference.
Having spent a month working in South Africa alongside Gary and Nicky several years ago, I witnessed first hand the incredible work that is being done out there, and the difference they have made so far is amazing. I am priviliged to be running this race for such a charity, and I hope to raise as much money as I possibly can for it. Please give whatever you can, even just £1 would be fantastic.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ukuthasa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you very very much,
Jane
