UPDATE OF OUR Progress I made it to Uhuru, the summit of Kilimanjaro which stands at 5895m, nearly 19,500ft. It was probably one of the hardest physical challenges I have undertaken in my life but my determination to succeed got me there along with the fact that all your donations meant so much to me. An unforgettable experience of a lifetime. Thanks to everyone for their support, collectively I think the group has raised in excess of £100,000 so far, a great feat in itself.

Like many people my family has been affected by cancer. My Mum died just over 5 years ago and Marie Curie were fantastic to her and to her family with their continual support, even after Mum was gone.

I am doing this challenge in memory of my Mum, Jean, my Auntie Anne and to support Marie Curie who provide a fantastic service for people affected by cancer.

I am very excited about participating in the Mount Kilimanjaro Trek and about meeting all the like minded people also participating in the challenge. I can't wait to stand on that summit at nearly 20,000ft and think how proud my parents will be of me.
