Jane is joining some friends for a channel swimming adventure in 2016. "The Giddy Kippers" will leave Dover and take it in turn to swim for an hour until they get to France. Temperatures are expected to be between 15-17 C. No wetsuits are allowed under the Channel swimming rules.

The swim will take place from 27th July onwards. The other team members are Kate, Martin, Dawn, Clive and Jonathan. Kate and Martin will be celebrating their 40th and 60th birthdays respectively. Jenny and Laura will be helping on the boat and the lovely Robert is providing land support.

Weather will have a big part to play and success is by no means certain. The support boat will ensure safety at all times. Preparation is well underway with cold water acclimatisation, sea swimming, night swims, team building and testing which cake Jane should bring. 

Support can take many forms and your good wishes and enthusiasm are the most important thing to Jane.
